The Ministers representing the Executive board of the rail freight corridor Rhine Alpine (former rail freight corridor 1) together with the Ministers representing the Executive Board of the rail freight corridor North Sea Mediterranean (former rail freight corridor 2) signed the first Framework for Capacity Allocation (FCA) for the rail freight corridor on the 20th December 2012.
In the margins of the Transport Council held on 8 October 2014 in Luxemburg, the ministries of transport of thirteen European countries have singed a significant agreement in order to promote sustainable rail freight transport activities within Europe. The event was presided by Siim Kallas, Commissioner for Transport and Vice President of the European Commission.
