Projects in Germany 6 Emmerich–Oberhausen
In 2016, the blueprint and approval planning for the third track continued. All in all, four public hearings were held as part of the planning approval process: PFA 2.1 in 03/16, PFA 2.3 in 04 + 06/16, PFA 3.2 in 10/16 and PFA in 2.2 12/16 (which is to be continued in 03/2017).
The Voltage Change-Over in the border area between Germany and the Netherlands was completed and put in operation on schedule in 10/2016.
Besides this, preliminary works commenced for the elimina- tion of a level crossing in combination with the construction of an elevated street crossing in Oberhausen. The con- struction works for an additional two elevated street cross- ings in Hamminkeln and Praest are still ongoing.
7 New developments Rhine/Main–Rhine/Neckar
The published first draft of the Federal Transport Infra- structure Plan (BVWP) 2030 confirmed a new line – Rhine/Main–Rhine/Neckar in the Corridor Mittelrhein.
Corridor Mittelrhein was added to the priority needs, which includes the following objectives and measures:
Construction of a two-track new line (NBS) Zeppelin- heim–Mannheim Waldhof with a maximum speed of 300 km/h and the north connection to Darmstadt;
NBS parallel to the to the federal highways (BAB) A5 and A67 (south of Darmstadt);
Lasting noise reduction along existing routes;
