Incident between Müllheim and Schliengen - ICM closed

+++ Update +++

The line is re-opened on both tracks for freight traffic on Wednesday 8 pm. Re-routings via Singen are still possible.  Due to the new infrastructure a speed limitation of 70 km/h will apply for two days after re-opening.

RFC Rhine-Alpine has closed this ICM process. Thanks to all involved parties for good cooperation. A reviwe of this Contigency Management case is done by RFC Rhine-Alpine.

In the evening of 2 April a collision of a Rola train with elements of a road bridge under construction between Müllheim and Schliengen caused the derailment of this train. Tracks and catenary are seriously damaged and the section is closed. Police investigations and recovery are ongoing. The national traffic control centre of DB Netz dispatches the freight trains, RUs check the re-routing via Singen / Brenner. The crisis organisation is operational.

In the morning of 3 April in Germany 40 trains are currently parked, in the Netherlands 4, in Belgium 4. Once the re-routing is defined, those trains can start again. A coordination via the Park or Run tool is activated.

The ICM process was activated! As the leading corridor, we will take over the RFC coordination.

In our re-routing document please check scenario 4.4 Freiburg – Basel SBB RB for further re-routing information.
