Usage of Train Information System (TIS) by Terminal Operators DUSS and ECT

To allow seamless and international tracing of freight train runs along Rail Freight Corridors the German terminal operator DUSS will in future profit from international train data disposed by Train Information System (TIS). The web-based application TIS provided by RailNetEurope (RNE) delivers real-time train data for international and to some degree for national freight trains to railway undertakings and terminal operators. After a successful TIS-test phase in DUSS terminal Köln Eifeltor, a general TIS User Agreement has been signed between DUSS and RNE. This agreement may serve as a basis for TIS roll-out to further DUSS terminals in the first half of 2017. DUSS manages 24 terminals in Germany of which 7 terminals along RFC Rhine-Alpine.

Dutch Terminal Operator ECT (Europe Container Terminals) at the Port of Rotterdam signed the TIS User Agreement as well and benefits already from ProRail’s new approach to provide information about all national/international freight trains from all reporting points to TIS.
