New study on performance management on RFC Rhine-Alpine

RFC Rhine-Alpine conducted a study in 2018 to shed light on performance management in the logistic chain of the corridor. Based on questionnaires and interviews with 5 stakeholders, we analysed the different approaches in punctuality definition and management of the companies involved in the transport chain. It became clear that the fragmentation of responsibilities makes transparency on punctuality difficult. The biggest challenges that an effective performance management face, are the lacking of an organisation with overall responsibilities and contractual relationship with all stakeholders, as well as the different approaches to delay causes of all stakeholders in the transport chain and the fact that different IT systems for performance measurement have a low degree of automatic interfaces. RFC Rhine-Alpine gladly uses the study results as input for discussions on a joint performance management improvement.
