Inauguration viaduct “Lugano – Bellinzona”

Representatives of the „Alp Transit Gotthard Company“, the Ministries and several participants of the project have inaugurated the viaduct “Lugano – Bellinzona” situated at the north portal of the Ceneri-Basetunnel. A spectacular firework has been shown the 15th of December 2015 in order to inform the population about the completion of this viaduct that will be a milestone in the “Alp Transit” project. During Christmas time it will be illuminated. On this 1060 meter long building “Lugano – Bellinzona” the trains will run direction north in future – on the 480 meter long viaduct “Bellinzona – Lugano” the trains will run direction south.

For the first time shunting under ETCS L 2

Earlier this week, SBB has taken ETCS Level 2 in operation between Brunnen and Erstfeld. Since then, also drivers of the shunting team of SBB Cargo in Altdorf drive with the new system to customers of the Swiss rail freight operator in the region. This is a European "premiere", according to the Railway Infrastructure's spokesman. For shunting between Schwyz and Göschenen a shunting locomotive type Am 843 is equipped with ETCS L 2. (cm)

Late Saturday night (15-16 August 2015), SBB "successfully" implemented ETCS level 2 between Brunnen and Erstfeld, so a spokesman of SBB....

THE UPDATED VERSION OF IP OF CORRIDOR RHINE-ALPINE IS NOW ONLINE

The Executive Board of the Ministries of Rail Freight Corridor Rhine-Alpine have agreed on April 23rd 2015 to release the update of the Implementation Plan. This version replaces the Implementation Plan issued on December 3rd 2013.
