Customer Information Platform (CIP) now provides information on infrastructure project and ETCS deployment

The interactive map is the heart of CIP. Further developments and new functionalities are planned to improve the usefulness for our customers. As an additional feature, the information about “Projects” and “ETCS deployment” is now available. Under both categories several sub-elements are available (e. g. Infrastructure, Signalling or ERTMS projects).

To display “Projects” and ETCS deployment information, please select the desired sub-elements in the respective categories of the menu on the left side of the map. For singular display we recommend to disable the information on “corridor lines” in the category “line properties by choosing "none".

CIP is the only source that delivers this type of standardised information on line properties, Projects and ETCS deployment in the railway sector for several infrastructure managers.

To allow seamless and international tracing of freight train runs along Rail Freight Corridors the German terminal operator DUSS will in future profit from international train data disposed by Train Information System (TIS). The web-based application TIS provided by RailNetEurope (RNE) delivers real-time train data for international and to some degree for national freight trains to railway undertakings and terminal operators.

The Go-Live of the new changeover point for the electric power supply systems on the border between Emmerich station in Germany and Zevenaar in the Netherlands, significantly simplifies rail freight between the two neighboring countries. From now on international freight trains from and to the Port of Rotterdam have to switch their power supply system only once from 25,000 to 15,000 volt AC.

Sector statement & ministerial declaration

The Sector Statement and Ministerial Declaration to boost international rail freight have been offically signed by the Ministries of the member states during the TEN-T Days in Rotterdam.

RFC Rhine Alpine very much appreciates the effort of the ministries and all sector organisations and their commitment shown through both documents.
