Publication of Capacity Bottleneck Analysis Update

The document is divided into several parts to give you a detailed overview about the different bottlenecks along the Corridor, their future development and the view of both the Infrastructure Managers and the Railway Undertakings on the situation.

Part A contains information on infrastructural bottlenecks. This part was compiled by the Working Group Infrastructure and Terminals based on the national investment plans. The bottleneck overview is displayed for the years 2020, 2025 and 2030. For each year, three alternatives are shown: the situation when only secured infrastructure projects are realized within time (S), the situation when planned projects are also taken into account (S+P) and an overview of the situation presuming also the completion of projects that have yet to be defined (S+P+TBD).

Enclosed is the perspective of the Railway Undertakings as a result from a 2019 EU Commission enquiry and a list of their additional findings in 2020. The 2019 enquiry results are divided into existing and suggestions of new investments and include a feedback from the respective Ministry of Transport. The list of the 2020 findings is the summary of a collection of bottlenecks the Railway Undertakings have identified since the 2019 enquiry and includes a feedback by the respective Infrastructure Manager if already given.

Part B shows additional operational bottlenecks identified by the Working Group Train Performance Management.
