Betuweroute: Financing for the German construction accomplished
The funds for the construction of the third track from Oberhausen via Emmerich to the Netherlands’ border are available. Today (24/07/2013), the Federal Ministry of Transport, the federal state North Rhine-Westphalia and the DB AG have signed the corresponding financing agreement. From the approximately EUR 1.5 billion, the federal government covers EUR 746 million (of which again EUR 51 million are TEN-funds of the European Union), the federal state EUR 450 million, and the remaining EUR 300 million will be shared by the DB AG and unnamed third parties.
